Desert Magic
Engagement photos Of Whit and Keo were candid, easygoing, and freely expressive. Their wardrobe complemented the desert magnificently. As a side note, people often ask what they should wear for their shoot. My advice is always to choose something that represents who they are or what they want to express—and these two absolutely hit the nail on the head.
Both Whit and Keo are climbers and longtime lovers of the Eastern Sierra, so choosing a location that embodied their deep connection to place meant a great deal. We picked the perfect spot near a well-known climbing area: a location with a 360-degree panorama of the mountains, towering boulders, and sweeping views of the sky, mesa, and expansive wilderness.
Clouds had been rolling through the valley since mid-afternoon, and I began to feel a little uncertain about the lighting. But when we arrived at our location, the sun emerged just in time, creating a soft glow over the landscape. It stayed long enough for me to photograph their entire session before setting behind the Sierra.
Altogether, we shot for about an hour, laughing and talking about their upcoming wedding. They shared their journey as a couple—the highs and lows of relationships, how their love story came to be.
